Cultural Exchange & Tea Industry Exploration with Mie University, Japan
Blue Ocean Insights Pvt Ltd recently hosted a field visit with students from Mie University, Japan, offering an immersive experience in Sri Lanka’s renowned tea industry. The students had the unique opportunity to pluck tea leaves in lush plantations and visit the Wikiliya Tea Factory to witness the tea production process, followed by an engaging tea-tasting session.
As part of the cultural exchange, we visited Wikiliya Tamil School, where participants explored educational opportunities in remote Sri Lankan communities. This interaction fostered meaningful discussions on education, culture, and daily life. Adding a creative touch, the students introduced Japanese origami art, creating a vibrant cross-cultural experience.
This initiative not only deepened the participants’ understanding of Sri Lanka’s tea heritage but also strengthened international collaboration and cultural appreciation. We look forward to more such enriching engagements in the future!
